Boat & Jet Ski Lift FAQ's

Here you will find a list of the most frequently asked boat lift questions and answers to those questions!

Is there a proper sequence to operate the valves on a three-valve control box?

When operating a three-valve control, the left valve handle and the right valve handle should always be turned simultaneously. The center valve handle is then opened/closed. This should be done when both raising and lowering. Doing so should help reduce the need to “feather” the outside valves to overcome an un-level condition.

How much does a boat lift cost?

Many factors go into determining the size capacity of your lift including weight, boat length/width, docking application, and body of water. Fibersteel boat lifts are customized for your boat and dock so costs will vary.

How do you dock a Jet Ski / Personal Watercraft (PWC) ?

When you are driving your PWC onto your Fibersteel Jet Ski Lift, approach the slowly, at idle speed. When the nose of the PWC contacts the front of the lift, accelerate slightly, just enough to power the PWC onto the lift. PWC idle speeds vary.

Do you have to use a shallow water boat lift only in shallow water?

Shallow water boat lifts can be used in both shallow and normal fluctuating water depths. Some boats with tall wake/surf towers in marinas need the low-profile tank design to allow their boats to be hoisted without hitting the roof of the dock or marina.

Can my boat lift sit on the ground with the boat on it?

In most cases, if the lift has to sit on the ground because of lack of water, your boat should be fine. If the bottom is extremely unlevel or rocky you should remove the boat before this condition occurs.
